# Delete My Account

Permanently deletes the authenticated user's account. It is also recorded as a cancellation request under the Mexican data protection law (ARCO).

## Authentication

* **Authorization**: `Bearer <token>`

Only a **user session token** is accepted. API keys and OAuth tokens are rejected. Users can also do this from the web app at `app.timbrix.mx/account`.

## What is deleted

* Your user account and your memberships in organizations.
* Pending invitations sent to your email.

Your acceptances of the Privacy Notice and the Terms of Service are kept in pseudonymous form, without your email in clear text. Invoices issued by your organizations are not affected.

## Requirements

You cannot delete your account while you are the only owner of an active organization. Transfer its ownership with [Transfer Ownership](https://docs.timbrix.mx/api-reference/organizations/transfer-ownership.md) or close the organization first. Owners of closed organizations can delete their account.

## Example Response

Status: `204 No Content`.

## Common Errors

### 401 Unauthorized

A valid user session token is required.

### 409 SOLE\_OWNER\_OF\_ACTIVE\_ORGANIZATION

You are the only owner of one or more active organizations. The response lists them:
